Gerard Hugounenc is our resident expert on swimming pool maintenance and French procurement. Gerard has a wealth of local knowledge that is often deployed to help our clients with their houses and dealing with local official bodies and utility companies.

Swimming Pool Maintenance

Gerard has over 15 years pool maintenace experience. To him a clean pool is a passion.  Gerard's philosopy about pools is that the pool is the image of your house.  A clean pool is a pleasure to behold and somthing that brings a smile to adults and children alike. Prior to joining Maisons Tournesol, Gerard ran his own successful Pool Maintenance business in the Herault area. There is little that Gerard doesn't know about how to keep your pool looking crystal clear and ready for a dip!

Gerard is also our resident procurement specialist. Gerard knows all the local places to go to for bargains. Be it new blinds or honey, Gerard has the knack of finding the best deals to save you money. Gerard handles all the procurement activities for Maisons Tournesol and he can also help you save money by sourcing products in the right locations.

French know-how

The other major benefit that Gerard brings to the business is that he knows all the in's and out's of the French way of life. Having lived in the region for all his life he also knows who to speak to, where to go and what to do. So whether it is finding the best local honey or buying vintage wine buying vintage wine; not to mention the best local olive oil (Gerard likes to keep up with the best, on food, that is),or sourcing a particular item of furniture, then Gerard is your man.

Gerard's great passions in life are his wine and finding excellent local restaurants. Gerard owns his own vineyard and together with his band of friends is passionate about the local wine in the region (see his article on the Best Languedoc Wines).   He also loves nothing better than visiting a new restaurant for a good meal. So whether it be expertise on keeping your pool crystal clear,  or advising on the best local Languedoc wines or finding a good restaurant, then Gerard is your man! Hobbies? Having a good time around a well presented table with friends and relatives, of whom there are plenty.
